Crystallization of Membrane Proteins Using Lipid Cubic Phase
- Initial quality checks of your protein are required before it goes to crystallization screening trials.
- Fluorescence recovery after photo bleaching (FRAP) will tell you the diffusion rate of your protein in LCP. If the diffusion rate falls into a promising range you go ahead with crystallization trial.
- If not, you have to make necessary changes to your protein to have the diffusion rate suitable.
- To run a FRAP you need to provide a minimum volume of 10ul of your protein at its highest concentration. This will be used against our FRAP screen at four different pH.
- For initial crystallization screen you need to provide us a minimum volume of 25 ul of your protein at its highest concentration. This will be used to screen against 10 commercial and in-house made crystallization screens (96 conditions / plate). LCP crystallization screens >>
